About You / What You’ll Need + Position Specifics

Highland Group is hiring a Content Creator and Community Engagement Manager to support a mission-driven client through meaningful storytelling and thought leadership across social media, live speaking engagements, podcasts, videos, books, website, Substack articles and other communications.

The content around this work will illuminate and make more accessible the principles and values of America's founding — faith, free enterprise, and belief in people.

This position will craft and deliver engaging social content while supporting the execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy Execution

  • Oversee the execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy that leverages the client’s mixed-media approach to amplify their message.
  • Identify innovative opportunities to expand reach and maximize audience impact.

Creative Execution

  • Support and maintain the creative vision for the client’s communication platform, ensuring all content reflects the client’s core principles and values.
  • Collaborate with designers, videographers, and other creatives to produce high-quality visuals and campaigns.

Social Media Community Management

  • Create, schedule, and post compelling content across social media platforms.
  • Foster an engaged online community by responding to comments and messages promptly and thoughtfully.
  • Analyze social media performance metrics to identify trends and optimize growth and engagement.

Podcast Coordination & Outreach

  • Support the scheduling, guest booking, and production logistics for podcasts, ensuring a seamless processfrom recording to distribution.
  • Conduct outreach to potential podcast guests, fostering relationships with thought leaders, industry experts, and influencers to expand audience reach.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to repurpose podcast content into engaging social media clips, blog posts, and promotional materials.

Live Content Capture

  • Capture high-quality, engaging content (photos, clips, and soundbites) on your phone for social media at live events, such as podcasts, fireside chats, and roundtables.
  • Work alongside professional videography teams, complementing their work by capturing social-first moments and behind-the-scenes content for real-time or post-event distribution.
  • Edit and repurpose captured content to align with the communication platform’s branding and storytelling goals.

Copywriting

  • Write clear, compelling, and on-brand copy for social media, Substack articles, podcasts, and promotional materials.
  • Support the creation and distribution of a regular newsletter, ensuring engaging, polished, and impactful messaging.
  • Assist in crafting messaging for book promotion, speaking engagements, and other high-profile initiatives.

Event Support

  • Assist in the planning and execution of live events, including podcasts, fireside chats, and roundtables, ensuring smooth coordination and high-quality content capture.
  • Work alongside videographers and event teams to document key moments, capturing social-first content for real-time and post-event distribution.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support, such as scheduling, coordinating materials, and managing vendor deliverables to ensure successful event execution.

Vendor & Partner Liaison

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors, including graphic designers, videographers, event planners, and advertisers.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the client’s partners to execute a comprehensive content strategy.
  • Coordinate vendor deliverables to ensure timely project execution and delivery.

Administrative Support

  • Handle administrative tasks in support of marketing and communications, such as scheduling, organizing materials, and maintaining efficient workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in communications, marketing, business, entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • Background in history, philosophy, pre-law or English also welcomed.
  • Alignment and excitement with client’s mission and principles: faith, free enterprise and belief in people.
  • Proven track record of managing social media platforms and growing engagement.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with an eye for detail.
  • Experience in photography/videography with mobile-first content capture and editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar).
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and analytics tools.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
